The problem I have chosen to address for my doctoral research is the process of developing true worshipers through spiritual formation for the purpose of offering God acceptable worship. The purpose of this post is to establish the biblical precedence, as taught by Jesus, of forming or developing a human being spiriutally.

Scripture Foundation For Argument

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Commentary

Most contemporary Christians presuppose their worship is acceptable to God. They rarely, if ever consider that their worship might be unacceptable to God. Many don’t believe the concept of unacceptable worship even exist. The assumption I purport in this post is Romans 12:1-2 makes clear distinctions between acceptable and unacceptable worship. What solution does Paul give those who aspire to offer God accepatble worship? What say ye? Support all counter arguments with scripture.
